It is not everyday that two international centres of such quality meet in Nice...but this photograph from "Stouf", a faithful supporter of Nice who met the two stars at Stade des Arboras, is proof.
Tana Umaga and Brian O''Driscoll spent some time talking, obviously very
pleased to see each other, while Leinster carried out their first training session at the stadium on Thursday evening.

Nice played a historic match against the European champions, Leinster, on Friday evening. Despite the sweltering heat both teams delivered a great game with a final score of 10-38. Nice demonstrated that their team is already in place for the beginning of the season as they faced a team of the highest quality including Irish players such as O’Helly, Cullen, Heaslip and Horgan.

His Royal Highness Prince Albert of Monaco attended the match and stated « You have brought honour to your jersey and your club, I congratulate you on the game that you have presented». Benoit Kandel, the first deputy Mayor of Nice added « This is proof that rugby has it’s place in Nice and the club will go on to do great things »
This successful match was the first to be played by the new 29 man squad led by Christophe Moni. New players such as scrum half Damien Delmonte, Fly half Mark McHugh, centre David Kacharava and South African centre Rudy Keil made their debuts whilst Ross Beattie, who watched from the stands, will be joining the playing squad in the next few days.

Following their victory against Tournefeuille (29-6), Rugby Nice Côte d'Azur are welcoming Chateaurenard this Sunday at Stade des Arboras (3pm).
This match, which was scheduled as the first match of the season, then rescheduled twice will finally be played. Sunday's match is an opportunity for RNCA to re-inforce their place in the top 4 of the table and affirm their ambition to qualify for the play-offs. RNCA, however, are still missing certain players through injury and will also not be able to field players that were not registered before the 20th September (the original match date) namely Grant Hill and winger Lome Fa'atau. On the other hand Cédric Delevalée who is on a match ban following his sending off against Tournefeuille, will be able to participate in this match. Mark McHugh will be rested this week following a thigh injury last week.
The kick off will be given by Miss Côte d'Azur, the beautiful Anaïs Governatori (20 years old), our future Miss France.
